Before the rainy days of June came to this part of the world, my husband and I together with the family explored the sea and the pool at Amontay Beach Resort in Amontay, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.
The hubby and I together with our church mates had first checked out the place in 2010 and we were pleased that with this latest visit, so much has improved for the best 🙂  We paid P20 (less than 1 USD) per person as entrance fee. Use of the pool has a separate fee: P100 per person (a little less than 3 USD). The resort also has jet skis, banana boat and pedal boat, among other amenities. Use of these amenities also has a separate cost. There are also cabanas by the beach. If you want to stay overnight at the resort, they also have rooms available (costs starting at P1,800, about 45 USD) .
Getting to Amontay from Butuan City is about 45 minutes to an hour. It is best to go there bringing your own car or by renting transportation from the city.
